LEGO's next Super Mario sets, including Fire Mario & Bowser's Castle (marked 8+) and Bowser's Rumbling Race (7+), are on pre-order at lego.com for dispatch from 1 January. That is a week after Christmas, so a pre-order will not arrive in time to go under the tree.

How we check a date
A release date only goes on this page once we have read it from the maker, the publisher, the studio or a reliable trade source, and each entry links to that page. For films we use the Film Distributors' Association schedule, the industry's own UK release list, and compare it with the studio's UK page.
Dates move. When two official sources disagree we say so beside the entry instead of picking one quietly, and we check every entry again as its date approaches. Rumoured sets and leaked lists stay off until a maker confirms them.
Why films and games sit on a toy calendar
Many of the toys children ask for are tied to something they have watched or played. A new film or game is often the moment a child discovers a character, or comes back to one, so these launches matter to anyone planning a birthday or Christmas present.
We watch UK search interest around each of these dates as part of the Toy Trend Index. Where we already have a guide that fits, the entry links to it, so you can go straight from "the film is out next month" to toys whose ages and contents we have checked.
Buying ahead of a release
Pre-ordering a new set can make sense for a present with a fixed date, but check the retailer's dispatch date as well as the release date, since the two are not always the same. A toy that is dispatched on release day may still arrive days later.
Read the age marking on the exact product before you buy. Tie-in ranges often span several ages, and a range aimed at teenagers and adult collectors can share a name with sets made for young children. Our guides note the maker's marking for every pick, and our age guide explains how to read the warnings.
Common questions
What new toys are coming out soon in the UK?
The calendar above lists every new toy range we have been able to confirm with the maker, soonest first, alongside films and games likely to bring tie-in toys. We add to it as makers announce dates.
Why is a toy I have read about not on this list?
We only list a release once the maker or another reliable source confirms its date. Leaked set lists and rumours are left out until they are announced properly.
Are the dates the same everywhere?
Not always. These are UK dates where we could confirm them. Where a source only gives a worldwide date, or two UK sources disagree, the entry says so.
