TopTenToys asks before any non-essential cookie is used. Our own banner asks whether Google Analytics may count your visit, and Google's consent message asks about advertising; they are separate choices, and neither answer is read as the other. Labelled affiliate links redirect to external services, which may use their own cookies after you leave TopTenToys.
What the site currently does
The website writes no cookie of its own. Your site statistics choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, not a cookie sent to our server, so it never leaves your device. Google's ad code loads on every page so that it can show Google's consent message and ads, as described below. Product images are requested from the supplying merchant's content-delivery network. Clicking an affiliate link leaves TopTenToys and is subject to the external network and retailer notices.
Amazon links and your local store
If you are outside the UK, our Amazon links may take you to your local Amazon store (for example amazon.com or amazon.fr) instead of amazon.co.uk, using Amazon's own OneLink service, so a purchase there still supports TopTenToys. This happens entirely on Amazon's systems after you click a link and sets no cookie on this website; it needs no cookie choice from you here. Amazon's own cookie and privacy notices apply once you arrive there.
Site statistics: Google Analytics
If you allow site statistics, TopTenToys uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages are read and which retailer links are used, so we can tell what is useful. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by our property code, which last up to two years, and the reports are kept for 14 months. Google signals and advertising features are turned off, so this is not used to personalise ads, and we never send your name, email address or anything else that identifies you. If you don't allow this category, the Google Analytics script never loads. Google's privacy policy governs how it processes this data.
Advertising: Google AdSense
TopTenToys shows ads served by Google AdSense, placed automatically by Google's Auto Ads system. If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, Google's own consent message asks for your choices on your first visit: whether Google and the advertising partners it lists may use cookies and similar technology to personalise the ads you see. Google runs that message through a consent platform it has certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, and keeps a record of your answer in your browser. If you don't agree, Google may still show ads that are not personalised. Once the message has appeared for you, the "Change advertising choices" button above reopens it, so you can change or withdraw your choices at any time. Google's own privacy policy governs how it handles any ad request.

If TopTenToys introduces any other functionality that writes a non-essential cookie, we will review it and add the required notice or consent control before activation, and update this page.
